Just came to my mind & twittered about it: Web 2.0 services, esp. feeds allow us to make ourselves heard even if we are only recipients and not producing.
~ ~ ~
A lot of people do not write very much, even less produce photos, audios, videos and other stuff. And quite a lot of us who try to be productive do not find time, ideas, or what's ever necessary to do this very frequently.
But finally web2.0-services allow us to make ourselves heard even if we are only consuming content:
- By using Delicious you can show the world what bookmarks you find important.
- You can share your music listening habits with last.fm.
- With Google Reader you are able to let other people know what kind of news you are reading.
- You can show the world which books you want to have whith your Amazon wishlist.
- If you have a Flickr-account you can tell everyone which photos you like.
- By using Youtube you are able to let everyone know what your favorite videos are.
- ...
- And finally with Twitter you can pick peaces from you stream of reading/listening/watching/... habits and show what's actually most interesting to you.
